I think the 1000 visitors may tend to garner a lot more future sales than the 1 visitor who actually purchased something today. I assume that is what they are banking on. Interesting questions you pose...

Best,

Hi Rob,
I think that it is great that people are leaving poignant messages to their departed relatives. I lost my brother about 10 years ago and I used to write him long letters when I was younger. It would've been therapeutic for me to be able to write something to him after his passing. I did deliver a eulogy which was very difficult as his passing was unexpected. My aunt, who is a psychiatrist, agreed that reading a eulogy was great therapy for me after my brother's loss. I think any form of grieving is good and its nice to know that some of the "facebook"-type apps are being used in a positive manner.

Rob:
On Facebook I see tweets from comic writer Brian Bendis about new titles that are out that he's written and how they are being reacted to. He has thousands of followers and I really think he's doing a good job of marketing with this tactic. Also he's having fun which sells, too.

I agree. "Providing information products" is a good idea, especially when the user, as part of a social network, provides the content!
